Bermuda Valuers & Appraisers Ltd (BV&A) is a new, independant consultancy. Our appraisers have a combined total of 45 years experience in the property industry, half of which has been gained in Bermuda.
BV&A work with all the major lending institutions and are Registered Valuers on the Bermuda Surveyors Registration Council.
Steven Bowie BSc MRICS R.Surv
Steve has been a Chartered Surveyor since 1990, and has been involved with the valuation of property from the commencement of his career in property auctioneering in 1986, for Edward Erdman, in the West End of London.
His career continued over the years including ten in Botswana, where he was a Director and in the last four years, the Managing Director of Knight Frank. During this time he was instructed to carry out appraisals on behalf of clients including The British and American Embassies, valuing their property interests across Southern Africa, including Madagascar.
On leaving Africa, Steve spent two years as a Partner of Knight Frank in London, where he was in charge of setting up a Sub Saharan African Property Fund, and carrying out / coordinating a valuation exercise on behalf of Barclays Bank, valuing their property assets throughout Africa from Egypt down to Cape Town.
In 2009 he moved to Bermuda, to work for Rego (now Rego Sotheby’s) as Head of Professional Services, where he headed up the Valuation Department, carrying out the majority of the commercial valuations and a large number of the residential, agricultural and tourist appraisals for seven years.
In August 2016 he established the Professional Services department at The Property Group and has valued over $1.5 billion worth of property in just under four years, whilst increasing the company’s exposure, market share and broadening the client base.
Steve has been voted ‘Best Valuer in Bermuda’ for the last three years, by the Bermuda Property Professionals. He is a Registered Valuer with the Bermuda Surveyors Registration Council and became an RICS Registered Valuer in 2018.
Suzanne Stones BSc (Hons) PGDipSurv MRICS R.Surv
Suzanne became a Chartered Surveyor in 2006 and started her professional career in the UK working for Government in Cambridgeshire. There she was responsible for the leasehold management of the Council owned and tenanted portfolio of over 700 assets, including lease renewals, rent reviews and valuation work. She played a large role in the annual valuation of the council asset portfolio including schools, offices, rest homes and other properties.
In 2009 she moved to Bermuda and joined Bermuda Realty as a Property Manager and Valuer where she worked for over 11 years and during this time, valued over $7.2bn of property. Her focus is on residential and commercial valuation including private client work, divorce, probate and trust accounting. A large proportion of her time is spent valuing for secured lending for each of the major lending institutions on the island.
Suzanne is a Registered Valuer with the Bermuda Surveyors Registration Council as well as being an RICS Registered Valuer.
